November Event - Cypress Bend - Craft Farms

Joe Thornton shot a final round 64.6 to claim his 1st PCGA Event at Craft Farms Golf Course, Cypress Bend, Saturday.  Thornton, along with only 5 other golfers broke par for the day.   Kipp Bedford carded a 69.9 for 2nd, Mel Parnell shot 70.1, finished 3rd and Ron Norris finished 4th with a 70.7 net.

McInnis maintain his lead, slight lead, on the points race, 448.  Kipp Bedford moved closer to the top spot with a solid 2nd place finish, 446, Kevin Phillips stayed in 3rd, with 424. Keith Action Jr. climbed into the top 5 for the first time this year with 382.  Frank Liley rounds out the top 5 with 363.  Denny Mecsko, 358, dropped out of the top 5 due to lack of play.  Rumors were he opted to watch Auburn lose to Mississippi State instead of teeing it up.  "Can't win a championship if your not dedicated to it" was overheard on the driving range.  We here at the PCGA, agree with that statement.  See the top 20 below.  Getting interesting.  Will play out some scenario's after the November event at Springhill.

Bedford recorded his 4th 2nd place finish.  Congrats.  Remember, Nobody remembers who finishes 2nd but the guy that finishes 2nd!

Rip Malini hit it close on the front nine to claim the cash, $20 that is.  Ron Walsh hit it close on the back nine to claim the 8 valuable race points.  Tom Emmons still leads the race for the most closest with 3.  Ferritto and Walsh are only 1 back.

Money Title?  I guess we can mention it.  McInnis, $130 and Brian Ivey are tied at the top with $130.  Kevin Phillips, $110, Keith Action Jr., Frank Liley and Matt Waters, round out the top 6 with $100 each.  Nothing changed from last month, Yawn!!!

Bedford was the low man of the day with a 78.    Bedford was the only golfer to break 80 on the day.  Really?  Its Cypress Bend, Really?  That gives the PCGA another golfer inducted into the Mr.79 or better club!!!!  7 total.  Anyone else not impressed?

Next up for the PCGA

The PCGA returns to Springhill Golf Course for the month of November. Course is in great shape.  Greens are probably the fastest in the area.  It is a true test around the greens.  Anyone looking to improve their game, and by the looks of the scores this year, most of you need to invest in some lessons.  See Shane Allen at Springhill.  Tell them we sent you .  You will not get a discount but we will get some brownie points.  Looking forward to a great golf course.
